Spotlight on Kristi Kaufman: Championing Growth, Leadership, and Legacy in Title Insurance

In the ever-evolving world of title insurance, leadership and innovation are essential. Few embody these qualities as effortlessly as Kristi Kaufman, Director of Professional Development and Client Growth at FNF Family of Companies. With nearly two decades in the industry, Kristi’s journey reflects resilience, mentorship, and a passion for continuous learning.

A Journey Rooted in Adaptability and Grit

Kristi’s career path is a testament to the power of adaptability and perseverance. Though her initial aspirations led her to Manhattan for a career in sales and publishing, fate had other plans. With encouragement from a law school friend and the support of her father, a real estate attorney, Kristi took a bold leap—co-founding a law firm in Boston. Those early days, building a business from the ground up, instilled in her a “founder’s mentality,” a mindset she has carried into every role since.

From her early years as an attorney agent to leadership roles at WFG and now FNF, Kristi has always approached her career with a sense of ownership, striving to foster a culture of growth and development, both for herself and those around her.

A Legacy of Mentorship and Women’s Leadership

One of Kristi’s greatest inspirations was Cindy Mills, a colleague-turned-close friend, whose mentorship played a pivotal role in her professional ascent. Cindy championed Kristi’s advancement into management and remained a steadfast supporter of her growth. In her final years, a remarkable group of women from the title industry—spanning competitors from various underwriters and agencies—seized every chance to create unforgettable memories with Cindy. From Boston to Nashville to Washington, D.C., where they admired the cherry blossoms together, these trips became cherished moments of connection and celebration. Cindy’s impact on Kristi’s career is immeasurable, and she is deeply grateful for the lifelong friendships forged through their shared experiences in this incredible industry.

Kristi recognizes the importance of representation in leadership and advocates for more women to step into executive roles within the title industry. More than ever, she believes that the industry—and the world—needs more leaders who operate from a place of abundance rather than scarcity, uplifting others rather than competing from fear.

Facing Challenges with Purpose and Confidence

Navigating the industry, Kristi has been deliberate in choosing workplaces that align with her values of inclusion and leadership diversity. She encourages women entering the field to seek mentors, allies, and sponsors who will champion their success. Her advice?

“Being clear is being kind, even if it doesn’t always feel nice.”

Kristi’s drive is fueled by an innate curiosity about people—a trait she developed from moving frequently as a child. Having attended 17 different schools before graduating high school, she learned to embrace change, enjoy her own company, and cultivate deep, meaningful connections. However, she also recognizes that her strength is not something she carries alone. “There is almost nothing I do or have done that I feel like I did alone,” she shares. “I have the most incredible family and friends who support me in every area of my life.”

Passion Beyond the Boardroom

Outside of work, Kristi finds joy in curating life’s experiences—through scent, music, and ambiance. Whether it’s listening to Brazilian jazz by the water or reliving the nostalgia of 90s hip-hop, she believes in setting the stage for memorable moments. Her first concert was George Michael, but today, she’s an unapologetic Taylor Swift superfan.

Living with Intention

Kristi’s guiding philosophy is simple yet profound: “If it’s not a yes, it’s a hell no.” She believes in showing up as her whole self in every room she enters, and if that space doesn’t welcome her authenticity, she knows it’s time to move on.

As she approaches her 50th birthday, Kristi reflects on the power of fear and growth. “Saying yes to things that scared me has been my biggest catalyst for personal and professional development,” she shares. “When you take risks, you not only grow, but you allow others the chance to support you.”

A Lasting Impact

Kristi’s ultimate goal is to help others recognize their own strengths and find joy in their work while fostering an industry where success is built on collaboration, integrity, and, of course, a good time. Her message to women in title? “The best opportunities often lie on the other side of fear. Embrace the challenge and never underestimate the power of showing up for yourself and others.”

For her unwavering leadership, advocacy for women, and commitment to lifting others, we are honored to feature Kristi Kaufman in Her - The Title Collective. Thank you, Kristi, for being a powerhouse, mentor, and a true classy Woman of Title!

Trailblazing with Tenacity: Cherish Cocivera’s Journey in Title Insurance

In the ever-evolving world of title insurance, Cherish Cocivera has carved out her place as a powerhouse, blending expertise, innovation, and a deep passion for the industry. As an Operations Manager in Phoenix, AZ, she has spent the last 20 years mastering the intricacies of title, refining processes, and pushing the boundaries of efficiency. Her journey is one of perseverance, mentorship, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

A Legacy in Title

Cherish’s path to title insurance wasn’t just fate—it was family. Growing up, she was surrounded by relatives in the industry. Her aunt and uncle, both seasoned professionals at Security Title, played pivotal roles in shaping her career. After spending much of her youth in Indiana, Cherish returned to her Arizona roots, where her aunt helped her land her first role in document retrieval and chaining. From that foundational experience, she built a career dedicated to operational efficiency and technological advancement.

The Art of Leadership & Mentorship

For Cherish, leadership is more than just a title—it’s a responsibility. She found inspiration in Natalie Bombardier, a woman whose grace, directness, and depth of knowledge left a lasting impact. “She handled everything with such class,” Cherish recalls, a standard she now holds herself to as a mentor and leader.

Despite her success, Cherish acknowledges the challenges women face in the title industry, from breaking through traditional structures to ensuring their voices are heard. Her advice to those just starting?

“Find your voice. Challenge yourself and become an asset in your field and company.”

Passion, Drive, and the Power of Perspective

What keeps Cherish pushing forward? The people. The community she’s built within the industry and the company she works for fuel her passion daily. She and her team set out to make their mark, both literally and figuratively, and that shared vision keeps her motivated.

Outside of work, Cherish finds wisdom and new perspectives in podcasts like Armchair Expert, which dives into human behavior, challenges, and personal growth. As a leader, she understands the importance of empathy and adaptability, knowing that everyone approaches challenges differently.

Music, Legacy & a Life Beyond Title

While Cherish is a force in the title world, her colleagues might be surprised to learn that she spent nine years as the lead singer of an 80s rock band in Phoenix! Her love for music runs deep, with Pink Floyd as her favorite band and Cher as her ultimate artist. And if you ask about her first concert? Jo Dee Messina’s Burn Tour in 2001—a memory that still sparks joy.

When asked about her philosophy in work and life, Cherish shares a mantra that resonates deeply: “Everyone and everything have a story.” This belief drives her leadership, her approach to challenges, and her ability to connect with others on a meaningful level.

Looking Ahead: A Legacy in the Making

While Cherish isn’t ready to define her legacy just yet—after all, she has many more years of impact ahead—one thing is certain: she is shaping the future of title insurance with passion, innovation, and unwavering determination. Her parting advice to the Her. Title Collective community?

“Continue to be strong, independent thinkers, and push for greatness within yourself. Find enjoyment in the little things.”

Cherish Cocivera isn’t just making waves, she’s creating a lasting ripple effect in the industry. And for those who haven’t met her yet, she’s definitely one to know. Thank you, Cherish for sharing your story, it is truly inspiring and an honor to know and see you!

Jaimee Mikusi: A Trek Through Title Insurance

In the ever-evolving world of title insurance, few professionals embody the spirit of resilience, leadership, and passion like Jaimee Mikusi. With an impressive 27-year tenure in the industry, Jaimee’s journey has been shaped by experience, mentorship, and an unwavering drive to excel. Currently serving as the National Business Development Manager at PropLogix, she brings a unique perspective to her role, one that is deeply rooted in her operational expertise and a genuine desire to help others succeed.

A Journey Through Title.

Jaimee’s career in title insurance began in 1998 in sales at ServiceLink, where she spent 22 years mastering various aspects of the business. From managing closings to working in REO, Originations, and the Subordination team, her expertise spans multiple facets of the industry. Now, at PropLogix, she specializes in national due diligence products, providing valuable solutions to professionals who face the same challenges she once did.

“Having been on the operations side, I understand firsthand the frustrations and costs that come with the job,” she says. “It allows me to connect with my clients on a deeper level and genuinely make their jobs easier.”

The Unexpected Career That Became a Calling.

Like many in the industry, Jaimee’s introduction to title insurance was serendipitous. Fresh out of Robert Morris University, she was searching for a job that offered stability and benefits. A position at ServiceLink seemed like a steppingstone, but it quickly turned into a fulfilling career.

“I excelled early on, and the more I learned, the more invested I became,” she recalls. “The opportunities to grow were endless, and leaving behind the knowledge and relationships I built was never an option.”

Mentorship and Inspiration.

One of the most influential figures in Jaimee’s career was Nicky Roman, a dear friend and mentor who left an indelible mark on her life. “Nicky stood by me during one of the hardest times in my life—when I lost my father, went through a divorce, and managed an intense workload all at once,” she shares. “She reminded me of my resilience and strength, even while facing her own unimaginable struggles.” Nicky’s unwavering support and wisdom continue to inspire Jaimee to be a pillar of strength for others in the industry.

Challenges and Triumph.

Jaimee acknowledges that being a woman in title insurance comes with its challenges, particularly in a traditionally male-dominated field. Early in her career, she faced skepticism from both men and women. Over time, she learned the importance of self-advocacy, professionalism, and addressing challenges head-on.

“My approach has always been to handle conflicts directly and professionally, ensuring mutual respect,” she explains. “Respect and professionalism are the foundation of successful workplace relationships.”

Advice for the Next Generation.

For young women entering the industry, Jaimee emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and mentorship. “Soak up all the knowledge you can and find a mentor who will guide you,” she advises. “Understanding how different parts of the industry fit together will make you more confident and successful.”

She also encourages networking and relationship-building, as these connections often open doors to new opportunities.

The Drive to Keep Going.

Jaimee’s motivation stems from her upbringing in a military family and her role as a single mother of four. “My kids are my ultimate ‘why.’ They see me work hard, juggle responsibilities, and support them in everything they do,” she shares.

“I want to set an example for them—hard work isn’t just about financial success; it’s about character and resilience.”

Life has its uncertainties, and Jaimee is no stranger to overcoming obstacles. “I never imagined I’d find myself divorced, but my upbringing prepared me for the ‘just in case.’ My father, a Navy commander, instilled in all five of his children the importance of education, independence, and resilience. He was particularly adamant about ensuring his three daughters pursued careers and became strong, capable women. His lessons have shaped my life and, in turn, the way I guide my children.”

Passions Beyond Work.

Outside of the title industry, Jaimee has a deep passion for sports. A former college soccer player, she has carried that love into her personal life as a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pirates, and Steelers. “Cheering for my hometown teams is always a thrill!” she says.

More than just a spectator, she finds the greatest joy in watching her kids play. “They’re involved in so many sports—soccer, indoor soccer, softball, baseball, wrestling, flag football, and football. I absolutely love being their biggest supporter,” she shares. “Sports have always been a big part of my life, and it’s incredible to see my kids share that same passion.”

Music and Memories.

When it comes to music, Jaimee embraces her roots. “I think my first concert was New Kids on the Block at Six Flags in NJ! I’m old!” she laughs. “I love all kinds of music now, but I’ll always have a soft spot for Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen. I’m a Jersey Girl at heart.”

Empowerment & Legacy.

Living by the motto “Work Smarter, Not Harder,” Jaimee believes in finding efficient solutions and approaching challenges with creativity. “It’s practically our family motto,” she laughs. “It ensures we maximize efforts while minimizing stress.”

Looking ahead, Jaimee hopes her legacy in the title industry will be one of hard work, professionalism, and kindness. “I want to be remembered not just for my achievements but for how I treated others,” she says. “Success is about the positive impact we make along the way.”

Final Thoughts.

Jaimee leaves Her Collective with a message of encouragement: “Thank you to all the amazing women in this industry. Your hard work and dedication inspire every day. Keep pushing forward, keep asking questions, and keep being absolute ballers. The future of this industry is brighter because of your strength and perseverance.”

With leaders like Jaimee paving the way, the title industry is set to continue evolving with integrity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Thank you for sharing your story with Her Collective!
